Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 22 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data ClothLab collects when you use the ClothLab app, the ClothLab Partner app and clothlab.in, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Who we are
ClothLab is a doorstep laundry, dry cleaning and garment-care service in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. For anything about your data, write to clothlabdotin@gmail.com.
2. What we collect from customers
- Google account details: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google. We use them to create and identify your account, show your photo and name in the app, and contact you about your account or a support request. We never receive your Google password.
- Mobile number: so our partner can call you at pickup and delivery, and to send order updates on WhatsApp. When sign-in is by phone, we also use it to sign you in with a one-time code sent on WhatsApp, and we may ask you to confirm it with such a code.
- Name: so our partner knows who to ask for.
- Addresses and the spot you pin on the map: so we can pick up and deliver at your door.
- Location: approximate location to check that we serve your area, and precise location only while you pin your address. We read it only while you are using the app, never in the background.
- Orders: the clothes and services you choose, pickup slot, prices, offers used, cash paid on delivery, and each order's progress.
- Photos of your bundle: our partner may photograph the bundle of clothes at pickup, as a record of what was handed over.
- Ratings and feedback: the stars, reasons and comments you give after an order, and the reasons you give if you delete your account.
- "Bring ClothLab here" requests: if you are outside our service area and ask us to come, we save that location and city to plan where to open next.
- Notification token: a device code that lets us send order updates and, unless you turn them off, offers.
- Crash reports: when the app crashes, a report with the device model, Android version, app version and what went wrong, so we can fix it. It does not include your orders or messages.
We do not collect payment card or bank details: orders are paid in cash on delivery. We do not show ads and we never sell your data.
3. What we collect from partners
For laundry and delivery partners using the ClothLab Partner app: name, mobile number, the areas they serve, the orders assigned to them, cash collected and settlements, bundle photos they take, their language choice and a notification token.
4. Why we use it
- To sign you in (with Google or a WhatsApp code) and keep your account secure.
- To answer you when you contact support, using your name, email or number.
- To take, assign, pick up, clean and deliver your orders, and to keep you updated.
- To resolve problems, claims and complaints about an order.
- To apply offers fairly, for example making sure a first-order offer is used once per person (by number and email).
- To understand what is working and what is not, and to fix bugs.
- To meet legal duties such as keeping tax records.
We process your data because you asked us for the service and gave your consent when signing in. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (section 8).
5. Who we share it with
- The partner handling your order sees your name, mobile number, address, map pin and the order details, only for orders assigned to them.
- Google provides "Sign in with Google" and shares your name, email and profile photo with us when you use it. Google Firebase (Google Cloud) stores our data and runs sign-in, notifications and crash reporting. Our database is in Google's Mumbai region (India).
- Meta (WhatsApp) delivers your sign-in code to your WhatsApp.
- OpenFreeMap serves the map pictures in the app. Your device asks it for the map area on screen; we do not send it your name or number.
- Vercel hosts the clothlab.in website.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
These providers process data only to run their part of the service for us.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account, addresses and order history: while your account exists.
- Sign-in codes: deleted once used or expired.
- Crash reports: about 90 days.
- After you delete your account: everything that identifies you is erased 30 days later (section 8). Order bills are kept without your name, number or address for as long as tax law requires (currently six years).
7. Security
Data travels encrypted between your phone and our servers. Only the people who need it to run ClothLab can see it, and the app's data rules let customers and partners see only their own orders.
8. Your rights and choices
- See and correct your data: your name, addresses and orders are in the app, and you can edit your name and addresses there. For anything else, email us.
- Turn off offers: Profile → Offer notifications. Order updates still arrive.
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete account in the app, or see clothlab.in/delete-account. You have 30 days to change your mind by signing in again.
- Raise a grievance or nominate someone to act for you, as the DPDP Act allows, by emailing us.
9. Children
ClothLab is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app when the change is important.
